Two unidentified persons have been crushed to death by a moving train behind Kano Club in the metropolis on Tuesday morning.
Eye witness account says one of the victims was cut into halves by the train and have all been rushed to the hospital.
The incident was said to have occurred in the early morning while the victims were lying on the rail track heading to Nguru from Kano, a track that has for long been presumed to have been abandoned.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Abdullahi Haruna has confirmed the incident through a short message to newsmen in Kano.
“Be informed that today at about 0800hrs, report received by the police that two yet to be identified persons who were laying down on the railway track, were crushed by a moving train behind Kano club” he said.
The police also visited the scene and evacuated the dead bodies to hospital for identification.
